The auction house Sotheby’s will put up for auction in Monterey one of 26 copies of the Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR, built to homologate sports prototypes of the FIA GT class in the 90’s. The mileage of the car in 1998 is 1500 kilometers. The declared price of the lot – $ 4.25-5.25 million.
The CLK GTR for sale is the ninth copy of the supercar. The car is offered in a completely original condition: in factory paint and with a native engine. In addition to the lot, all documentation and a set of branded spare parts are attached.
Each of 25 copies of the Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR is assembled at the AMG plant in Affalterbach, Germany. At the same time, road cars are practically no different from racing analogs. Invariable was even the engine – 6,9-liter V12 power 612 horsepower and 775 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h of a supercar took 3.5 seconds, and the maximum speed was 335 kilometers per hour.
To make the racing car a bit more comfortable, the CLK GTRs were equipped with air conditioning and an anti-lock system. For the interior trim used leather, and in the doors there were compartments for storing small things. Most of the stylistic elements of the body borrowed from the racing CLK GTR, with the exception of the rear wing – it was made integrated.
Last year On YouTube-channel TheTFJJ there was a video on which it is possible to see how the roadster Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR rides along a narrow forest path. The video was shot at the British competition of elegance Heveningham Hall Concours.
