Tesla’s main competitor Cybertruck from the American company Rivian promises to be one of the most interesting electric vehicles on the market, and from mid-2022 it will be available with a removable roof.

This option appeared in the official online configurator of the Rivian R1T pickup truck.

It remains to be seen what shape the removable roof will take. It is possible that Rivian will develop a roof with separate sections, like in the Jeep Wrangler.

Another option is a roof that can be removed as a whole. Recall that the premiere of the R1T battery pickup was organized back in 2018, and in November last year, orders for the new product were accepted. The length of the electric pickup is slightly more than 5.5 meters, the width is about two meters, and the effusion is almost 1.83 meters.

Thanks to a ground clearance of 36 centimeters, the pickup is able to wade water obstacles up to a meter deep, and the entry and exit angles are 34 and 29.3 degrees, respectively.

In the Launch Edition, the pickup gets four electric motors with a total power of 765 horsepower.

Up to a hundred such an electric car will accelerate in just three seconds. The Rivian R1T will begin shipping in June, with the first R1S SUVs arriving in August.
