Rival BMW X6 from Nissan: the first photos and when to buyJanuary 21, 2020
New crossovers, especially in the premium segment, appear with enviable constancy. In the company of the German cars and Lexus decided to return the premium brand Nissan – Infiniti.
This became known back in 2019, when the manufacturer announced the work on a new crossover Infiniti QX55, which will fulfill the role of the heir to the legendary Infiniti FX line.
For this event, the first image was even published on which the new model poses in profile. Despite the low quality, the darkened photo still looks pretty informative. Moreover, we changed the image settings to consider more details.
First of all, it is worth noting the dynamic coupe-like profile, which always distinguished crossovers Infiniti FH. It can also be considered a hint of rivalry with the BMW X6, Audi Q8 and Mercedes GLE Coupe.
Embossed sidewalls and pronounced “hips”, a voluminous hood and a long wheelbase are also noticeable – the latter circumstance speaks of a spacious interior. This is very important for a crossover with a sloping roof, which steals part of the internal volume above the heads of the rear passengers.
The new Infiniti QX55 is expected to receive a hybrid powerplant. But whether the ICE-only modifications will be offered for the crossover is still unknown. Production will begin in November at the Mexican plant, where they are already assembling the related, but more compact crossover Infiniti QX50. With the new product, this model will share many technical solutions.
Buy crossover Infiniti QX55 will be available at the end of 2020-beginning of 2021.
