RetroConcept Peugeot: new photosSeptember 18, 2018
The show car Peugeot will be equipped with digital side mirrors and iCockpit interior
Peugeot chief designer Gilles Vidal published in his Instagram account new photos of the show car, inspired by the cult model of the brand – 504 Coupe. The novelty, whose debut will take place in Paris, will receive an electric power plant and a landing formula of 2 + 2.
Judging by the tags accompanying the photos, the prototype will be equipped with an autonomous control system and an iCockpit interior, the second generation of which debuted on the crossover 3008. In addition, the concept car will receive digital side mirrors and taillights in the style of the Instinct prototype.
Earlier, the head of Peugeot Jean-Philippe Imparato said that the construction of the prototype took two years. The concept car demonstrates the style of the future flagship, which is likely to become part of the family of the 508. The lift also has a common feature with the Peugeot 504 and 504 Coupe feature – the emblem on the hood indicating the model.
The show car should confirm the seriousness of the company’s intentions to electrify the lineup. Since 2019, all Peugeot will be equipped with a gasoline, diesel and hybrid / electric unit. The choice of installation will depend on the size of the machine: large ones will become hybrids, compact models will switch to electric traction.
