Retro-styled Toyota Chinook motorhome for auctionAugust 10, 2020
Online auction Bring a Trailer is looking for a new owner for a mobile home, whose age is approaching 30 years. Bidding will come to an end on 12 August.
So far, the current rate for a Toyota Chinook 4×4 motorhome reaches $ 26,200. This copy was created back in 1991 for an individual order.
The camper borrowed individual components and assemblies from a Toyota 4×4 pickup. These are, for example, a chassis, a 5-speed manual transmission, a 2.2-liter engine, etc.
The first owner of the all-wheel drive Toyota Chinook very actively exploited it, but then the car stood idle for a long time. This continued until 2018, when the motorhome got a new owner. He did not use it for long: last year the camper changed the third owner. During all this time, the car has covered over 70,000 kilometers.
The body of the car is painted in a brown shade called Metallic Walnut. It relies on 15-inch steel rims with chrome hubcaps, off-road tires, raised suspension and more. Inside the camper, we see Recaro seats from 1985 Supra, as well as carpeted ceiling and floor. The solution is quite original.
The Toyota Chinook’s arsenal includes a radio and a walkie-talkie, air conditioning and cruise control (although the latter does not work), as well as power windows and JDM watches.
The corner sofa becomes the centerpiece of the living area. Also, travelers can sleep on two hammocks. An additional berth was arranged above the cockpit. The retro camper gets a comfortable table top, cabinets for various little things, a stainless steel sink, a hob and a dining table that can be folded if desired.
Previously, the frame SUV Isuzu Vehicross got to the auction. At one time, this model was sold in the amount of 1345 copies. Such an SUV had a quirky exterior and a striking leather interior, contrasting with the black body.
