The company Opel brought to the tests an updated version of the Astra hatchback, designed primarily for the European market. And the car was photographed in partial camouflage and with a trailer in tow.

Soon, in Europe, there will be a restyling version of the Opel Astra, which, most likely, will be in the 2019 model year. At the moment, the network has new photos of the upcoming model, which is being tested in partial camouflage. Judging by the fact that the main camouflage is concentrated on the front part – the main update will affect it.[IP]&ua=[UA]&domain=[DOMAIN]&page=[PAGE]&secure=[SECURE]&language=[BROWSER_LANGUAGE]&bidfloor=[BIDFLOOR]&gdpr_consent=[GDPR_CONSENT]

Expect any major change is not worth it. Most likely the front end will be made in a modern corporate style with a more expressive grille, and perhaps a revised front bumper. At the rear, no interesting changes have happened except for the rear optics, which will probably change only the design of the drawing.

There are speculations that the updated Astra will receive a new engine line from Peugeot Citroen Automotive (PSA). Therefore, it is logical to assume that the novelty will be equipped with new motors from the parent company. But there is a possibility that the leadership of PSA decides to wait until the introduction of their own engines, and will continue to buy power units from General Motors before the change of generations.

It should be noted that the PSA concern currently owns one of the most advanced and efficient diesel engines on the market, so it is only natural that they will eventually be used on the German brand. So, the turbodiesel engine of 1.5 liters (150 horsepower) is the main contender. Another possible candidate is the 1,2-liter turbocharger THP, which develops up to 110 and 130 hp.

Unfortunately, while the date of the presentation of the updated version is kept secret, as, actually, the new price list, but experts expect a debut during the summer.

In addition, Opel, having passed under the management of the French automobile alliance PSA Groupe, decided to update the engine line of the new Grandland X crossover. The company decided to add two 1.5 and 2.0 liter diesel engines.
