Replica “Batmobile” with machine guns put up for auction – she is allowed to ride on the streetsDecember 1, 2020
A replica of The Batmobile is up for sale.
A functional replica of the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1989 film will be up for sale early next month at Mecum in Houston. Note that the car has a V8 from the old Corvette and two heavy machine guns.
The model was built in the Putsch Racing studio on the basis of a specially designed frame with independent air suspension on all wheels. Under the hood of the car is a unit from a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette, but in the description of the lot it is noted that the chassis makes it possible to install any other engine, namely a V8 with an increased volume, a V10 from a Dodge Viper or even a turbine from a Boeing.
The “dome” of the Batmobile’s cockpit has servos and can be opened remotely. Images of the interior have yet to be released, but it is known to have electrically adjustable seats, a P51 Mustang sight and a police frequency scanner.
The vehicle weighs 1564 kilograms. The dynamic characteristics of the replica are not known, since its developers guarantee control stability at speeds up to 128 km / h, but they themselves tested the Batmobile, accelerating up to 190 km / h.
