Rental Audi R8 fell in half after road accident with 13 carsSeptember 12, 2020
Supercar driver fled from the scene of the accident
Last weekend in the suburbs of Paris, there was a massive accident, the culprit of which was the driver of a rented supercar Audi R8. It hit 13 parked cars, and the impact was so strong that the R8 tore into two halves – the engine flew off the car for several meters. There were no casualties in the accident, even the driver of the supercar was not seriously injured, as he managed to escape from the scene.
Eyewitnesses filmed the aftermath of the collision. Most of the parked cars have damaged stern and left side – the blow fell on a tangent. The 500-horsepower V10 engine from the Audi R8 burns out a few meters from the supercar itself, and debris is scattered across the entire width of the roadway.
According to Le Parisien, the blue R8 is owned by a local rental company that leased it to a man for a wedding ceremony. The culprit of the accident fled the scene, the police are still looking for him. Eyewitnesses report that the man was not alone, but with friends, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Rental cars are often involved in accidents. For example, in the spring of this year, an American crashed a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible roadster, which he rented from Adventure Drives. Then it was reported that the driver was too young and did not have enough experience to cope with the powerful sports car.
