Renewed Ford Edge for Europe received a 238-hp turbochargerFebruary 21, 2018
The company Ford introduced an updated crossover Edge for the European market. The novelty does not differ from the US version presented in January this year, but it lacks a full-fledged charged modification of the ST with a 340-hp six-cylinder engine. Instead of it, the car received the exported version of ST-Line and a new turbodiesel.
The range of Edge engines in Europe will consist of only two-liter diesel engines of the EcoBlue family. Available options are 150, 190 and 238 horsepower. The last of them is a twin-turbo unit, which appeared in the 213-power version, which was deformed on the pickup Ranger Raptor. Depending on the version, they will be combined with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
Sports version of the crossover – ST-Line – will receive 20-inch wheels (21-inch as an option), reconfigured suspension, twin exhaust pipes with chrome-plated nipples, seats with electric drive and leather trim, and paddle switches.
The list of equipment for the European new Ford Edge will include the SYNC 3 multimedia system with an eight-inch display, a 1000-watt B & O Play audio system, a wireless charging for smartphones, a cruise control with a full stop function, a hold-in system and automatic braking after a collision that reduces the likelihood of secondary accidents.
