Renault’s most budget-friendly crossover spotted on testsOctober 8, 2020
The car is due to hit the Indian market in early 2021. And the official presentation should be expected until the end of this year.
Renault continues to test its budget crossover for India. The car has already been noticed on the roads, but closer to the debut, the camouflage becomes much less. Recall that sales of new items were supposed to begin this year, but the dates had to be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Also, the name of the new model is not officially known – according to preliminary data, it will be called Kiger. At the moment, the budget cross has a factory index HBC. At the same time, certain technical details have already been reported – the car is built on the CMF-A platform. To ease the tax burden, its length is less than 4 meters.
In the exterior, it is worth highlighting the massive and interesting front part, in which the central place was given to the two-tier head optics. In the maximum configuration, the novelty will receive climate control, a modern multimedia system and a rear-view camera.
It is assumed that a 1.0-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 95 hp will be used as a power plant on an uncontested basis.
Depending on the selected configuration, the motor will be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or a variator. The starting price in India will be about 550 thousand rupees. If the model starts successfully in India, they plan to expand its geography to South Africa, Latin America and the Asian market.
