Renault will officially present the production version of the Kiger crossover on January 28January 27, 2021
The French automaker has released another teaser for its budget crossover Renault Kiger ahead of its debut on January 28.
The serial version of the model, judging by the published teaser images, will not differ much from the concept presented earlier. At the front, we see an updated radiator grille with a prominent Renault emblem. It is framed by slim LED daytime running lights, but luckily the “electric monobrow” has been dropped.
Additional details are difficult to discern, but we see the familiar more traditional roof rack. The lower headlights are inherited from the concept, but the road model is likely to have a less aggressive front bumper.
Renault hasn’t talked much about the Kiger, but the model is less than 4 meters long and was designed specifically for the Indian market. When the concept was unveiled, the company said the production model “will attract customers looking for innovation and modernity in the B [SUV] segment, which accounts for 51% of the Indian market.” The company also promised that the crossover will be “surprisingly spacious” and will feel good both in the city and outside the city.
Although the model was “designed for India,” Renault has already confirmed that the Kiger will be exported to other markets.
Specifications have not yet been revealed, but the model will be based on the CMFA + platform and will receive a completely new turbocharged engine. The latter promises an “exciting” driving experience.
