Renault will introduce a new compact SUV in early 2020September 2, 2019
The all-new HBC compact SUV will be based on the modular platform CMF-A +.
With the launch of the Triber, Renault has already begun work on its next budget product, the new compact SUV, code-named HBC. The company is preparing for the global debut of this model in the coming months.
This new SUV will be created on the global modular platform Renault-Nissan CMF-A +, which also underlies the Triber. The new Renault HBC is a crossover less than four meters long that will compete with the Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon. This new SUV will appear at Renault dealerships in late 2020 or early 2021.
To create a competitive price, the new compact Renault HBC SUV will share parts with Triber and other Renault products. Expect the model to have a similar dashboard and other interior design.
Under the hood, the Renault HBC will likely house a 1.0-liter engine borrowed from Triber, although Renault will offer a turbocharged unit for more advanced options. A 5-speed manual transmission or “automatic” is used as a transmission.
In addition to the HBC, Renault is also preparing a compact sedan, code-named LBA, which will be introduced to world markets a bit later.
