Renault tests the new Clio together with the old modelJuly 3, 2018
We want to note that the French compact model Renault Clio, which at the time of this news is produced in the bodies of 3-, 5-door hatchback and station wagon is not in high demand in various world automobile markets. However, in Europe this car is one of the most successful representatives of its family.
Last year the French manufacturer was able to sell 321 472 copies of the current generation of the model and it must be said that European motorists are eagerly awaiting the next generation of the French baby.
Our foreign colleagues journalists a couple of hours ago sent us another batch of photos with a test sample of a completely new Clio. It is reported that the car was captured somewhere in Spain, and the company was the current version of the model. The prototype was covered with a rather dense camouflage, but despite this we can clearly see that in terms of design, the novelty will be quite similar to the larger Megane hatchback. But what was decided not to touch, so this is a proprietary, recognizable form of the Renault Clio. The total length of the car will not change either, however, the wheelbase will increase slightly, which indicates the possibility of increasing the available space in the cabin.
It is reported that Renault engineers are preparing a significant upgrade for the engine line of its subcompact model. According to our foreign colleagues, the prototype has been equipped with a new 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, which was developed in cooperation with the German automobile concern Daimler. It is known that the most powerful engine in the updated range will be able to produce 150 horsepower, which should be enough to accelerate the new Clio from a place to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds.
