Renault start on tests of the hybrid performance model MeganeJune 18, 2019
The sports performances of the French hatchback Renault Megane, such as the R.S, Trophy and Trophy-R, have greatly expanded the compact Megane family. But this time the French brand decided to introduce a new representative of this model. These spy photos show us two prototypes of the hybrid Megane.
It is noteworthy that one of these cars is completely white, and the other has a black body with white bumpers and door handles. They have several other differences besides the color of the body panels. A completely white car got what appears to be a black sensor on top of the hood and large wing extensions on the back. The existing Megane has a fuel hatch on the passenger side, so the panel on the driver side on both of these vehicles probably hides the port to connect them.
Renault is currently preparing hybrid powertrains for models such as the Captur crossover, the Clio and Megane urban hatchbacks. The standard hybrid reportedly uses a 1.6-liter gasoline engine as a base and is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Its battery will be tiny – just 1.2 kWh.
The new generation of all-electric Renault Zoe shows the future of the brand in terms of creating such cars. The novelty boasts a 52-kilowatt battery, which allows you to drive about 390 kilometers without recharging according to the standard measurement of passenger cars WLTP. Renault Zoe will go on sale in Europe this fall.
