Renault showed a city electric car with a range of 250 kmFebruary 24, 2020
The electric version of the Renault Twingo debuted, which received the prefix Z.E. The new model still has the functionality of gasoline versions, but instead of the internal combustion engines, an electric motor with 82 hp output was installed, and a 22 kW / h battery is located under the floor. According to the WLTP cycle, the novelty can travel on a single charge up to 250 km.
Renault Twinzo Z.E. It has a rear-engine layout, so that the electric motor transmits torque only to the rear wheels. 82 hp electric motor the novelty was borrowed from Smart EQ ForFour, but the traction batteries are different: Smart received a lithium-ion battery at 17.6 kW / h, and for Twingo Z.E. provides more powerful at 22 kW / h.
On the exterior and interior, the electric car almost completely repeats the petrol Twingo: only nameplates, appliqués on the sides, blue inserts on the radiator grille and a special skin for the dashboard indicate “electrification”.
In the WLTP cycle, the new model can cover distances of up to 250 km, but in simple mode, which includes driving on the highway, the range is reduced to 180 km. But the electric car is able to accelerate to 50 km / h in 4 seconds and accelerate to 135 km / h as much as possible.
A household power outlet allows you to charge Twingo Z.E. in 13 hours 30 minutes. A 3.7 kilowatt source reduces charging time to 8 hours, and a 7.4 kilowatt source reduces it to 4 hours. From fast 11-kilowatt charging to 80%, you can recharge in 2 hours 10 minutes, and if you find a 22-kilowatt device, the battery is filled into 4 divisions out of 5 in just 63 minutes.
Electric car Twingo Z.E. they will also be offered with variations having a gasoline atmospheric engine 1.0 and a turbo engine of 0.9 liters. The cost is currently kept secret: most likely, the price list will be published during the Geneva auto show. Renault hopes that the share of electric vehicles in European sales of Twingo will be from 15% to 30%.
