Renault presented the most powerful MeganeJuly 19, 2018
The company Renault introduced the Trophy-version of the “charged” hatchback Megane RS a new generation, prepared for track-days. The standard equipment of the model became the Cup version with more rigid suspension settings and a mechanical differential lock.
Renault Megane RS Trophy is equipped with a 1.8-liter turbo engine, which produces 300 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque (400 Nm for cars with manual transmission). The unit can be paired with a manual transmission or an optional robotic transmission with two clutches.
From zero to “hundred” the hatchback will be dispersed in 5.7 seconds (0.1 seconds faster than the base Megane RS), the maximum speed is 260 kilometers per hour (instead of 255).
The list of equipment for the hot hatch includes 19-inch wheels with Bridgestone tires Potenza S001 (from 2019 will be available to their light version, which is two kilograms lighter), bimetal composite brakes with Brembo calipers, stiffer shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers.
The fully-controlled chassis is borrowed from the usual Megane RS. For an additional fee, the Trophy version of the hot-hatches is available with Recaro sports seats with Alcantara trim.
Renault Megane RS new generation debuted in Frankfurt last fall. The model received hydraulic stops of compression stroke in shock absorbers, a telemetry recording system and a system for selecting the operating modes of the control electronics.
