Renault prepares for debut budget crossover HBCSeptember 2, 2019
Renault is planning the debut of the new HBC crossover.
Having recently released the Renault Triber, the company immediately focused on creating a new budget HBC crossover.
The novelty will be built on a common Renault-Nissan CMF-A + modular platform, so the base length will not exceed 4 meters. The debut of the crossover will take place in the next few months.
Renault is positioning the HBC model as a compact and inexpensive crossover. Therefore, to reduce the cost of the car, you have to borrow parts from previous models. This approach will affect the dashboard and other interior elements. The main donor of the model is likely to be the Renault Triber.
According to company representatives, the model plans to become a worthy rival for the Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
Most likely, the basic versions of the new crossover will receive a 1 liter engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. While more expensive versions of the model will be equipped with a turbocharged engine and automatic transmission.
According to preliminary data, Renault HBC should appear in car dealerships either at the end of 2020, or at the beginning of 2021.
Meanwhile, Nissan showed the final teaser for the new Juke. Warming up interest in the upcoming premiere of the second-generation Nissan Juke, the Japanese brand released the final teaser, which showed a little more details about the future novelty than all the previous ones.
