Renault launches an affordable electric crossoverApril 16, 2019
Renault presented the serial version of the compact electric crossover K-ZE, the prototype of which was shown in the autumn of 2018 at a motor show in Paris, at the Shanghai Motor Show. The novelty is positioned as an affordable mass electric car.
The automaker said that the car was developed in accordance with the “high European standards.” The size of the wheelbase of the crossover was 2423 mm, and the ground clearance is 150 millimeters. Luggage compartment – 300 liters.
So far, only Renault K-ZE knows that without replenishing the battery it will be able to travel about 250 kilometers (according to the European NEDC cycle). When using the fast charging system, the energy of the batteries can be replenished from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes, and the standard device will recharge in about four hours.
Renault K-ZE will be produced at a joint venture of the Renault – Nissan – Mitsubishi alliance and the Chinese company Dongfeng, and sales of the crossover will start in the PRC before the end of this year. The French expect that by 2022 the Renault brand will sell more than half a million cars in China every year.
