Renault is preparing a completely new crossover, but carefully hiddenJune 14, 2019
Fresh spy photos have appeared on the Web, showing an early prototype of a new model. Despite the fact that the body is used from the previous generation Renault Clio, it is immediately clear – this is the future crossover.
The foreign edition of Motor1 has published new photos on its pages, on which you can see the previous generation Renault Clio. It seems nothing ordinary but a few details. Photos were taken at the test site of the company during road tests. That is, a novelty is hiding under the body of a well-known model, but it will not be a new Captur, Duster or other well-known model. Apparently, we are preparing another debutant.
So far there is no information about the future novelty at all. It is safe to assume that the CMF-B platform will be used as the basis, which provides for the possibility of assembling gasoline, diesel, hybrid and all-electric units. It will also be possible to install the all-wheel drive system (according to the classical scheme with the cardan, or by an electric motor on the rear axle).
Judging by the fact that the model is hidden under the old body, the crossover is only at the initial stage of design and testing. But it is already possible to note a high ground clearance, although not the fact that it will remain so at the final stage.
According to experts, the debut of the new model, with an as yet unknown name, can take place after the presentation of the second generation Renault Captur, which is currently passing the final tests on the roads.
