Renault has posted a video of the new Megane RS Trophy-RApril 7, 2019
The car in this video did not receive a single gram of camouflage. So far nothing has been said about when the French novelty will be presented, which can become the fastest front-wheel-drive car on the Nurburgring.
It seems that the French company Renault in the very near future can present us with the most powerful representative of the model Megane. This week, on the legendary Nürburgring race track, a prototype of a high-performance RS Trophy-R was seen without any disguise.
The reason why a company with a diamond logo did not mask its hatchback is because the car was shot for a promotional video, which probably indicates that its official debut is not far off.
Following the updated German hatchback of the BMW 1 Series, the French Megane RS Trophy-R seems to be ready to start production – it received a fully serial body and optics. It is known that under its hood there will be a 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, the maximum power of which is not yet known. In a less powerful version of Trophy, this engine produces 296 hp. and 295 Nm of torque.
The new Megane RS Trophy-R will be faster anyway than the Trophy version, as it can boast of reduced weight. The novelty will not have rear seats, and all windows will be made of plexiglass, while the safety cage will provide additional protection. We can already notice some updates, such as more powerful brakes and low-profile tires. The car will also receive a retuned suspension, which will also affect its dynamic performance.
