Renault embarked on tests of the updated Kangoo vanJune 19, 2019
Some publications have published photos of the test prototype Renault Kangoo. So far there is little data about the new product. It is assumed that the car, as before, will be offered in a fully electric version.
Many of you probably have no associations with the name Renault Kangoo. For our readers, we will start this article with a little help. In early 1997, the French company Renault introduced a light commercial vehicle, named Kangoo. In its latest generation, introduced more than 10 years ago, the model was shown in the performance of Kangoo Express, which is classified as an active vehicle, and Kangoo ZE, which is the best-selling all-electric commercial car in the world. The latter was sold over 40,000 units.
The prototype you see in these spy photos is our very first look at the next generation Kangoo.
These shots show that LCVs will increase in size to fit the current Volkswagen Caddy and Ford Transit Connect, which are among the best-selling cars in this segment. Previously, designers Renault will try to move away from the old square-shaped body.
It is possible that we came across a prototype of the electric version of the novelty. Yes, there is no visible charging port on the left side of the van, but it can be located on the front right fender. What makes us believe that this is a prototype of an electric vehicle is the fact that there is no exhaust pipe at the back – we increased all the available photos to check for the presence of the exhaust system, but could not find it.
We expect the diesel version of the model to remain the most popular choice among buyers. It is safe to say that the car will be offered with an improved version of the 1.5-liter dCi diesel.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the new Renault Captur is completely declassified.
