Renault Clio passes the last testJanuary 2, 2019
The new version of the subcompact city car Renault Clio can debut immediately after the 2019 Geneva Motor Show (March 2019). The model will receive a CMF-B platform and several new engines. Also for this car will be equipped with semi-autonomous control systems.
Development of the baby Renault Clio next generation is now at the stage of final testing. A couple of minutes ago, our foreign colleagues kindly shared with us the “spy” photos on which the prototype of the novelty was captured. It is reported that the pictures were taken in Sweden. The hatchback begins to slowly part with its camouflage. Our friends insiders report that the official presentation of the new Clio may take place very soon.
Perhaps, the car will be shown at the motor show in Geneva (Switzerland).
In the previous shots of the new Clio, it is clear that the prototypes not only received camouflage film, but also special panels that are needed to confuse curious journalists even more. Now there are no such panels, and we can get acquainted with the French novelty in more detail. Camouflage cannot hide that the Clio is still a 5-door hatchback, and its C-pillar still has a hidden door handle for opening the rear doors. According to rumors, the new generation of Clio will get some design elements from the Megane model.
Inside the new Clio, there is reportedly a large, touch-screen infotainment system that replaces many traditional buttons. The quality of the material in the cabin should be a little better. Brand engineers will implement some semi-autonomous control systems.
The next generation Clio will be built on the CMF-B platform. The base will be a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine, but buyers will be able to order a 1.3-liter unit – this engine was created with the participation of Mercedes-Benz engineers.
