Renault Clio became the bestseller of the European market in JuneJuly 29, 2020
The car holds the absolute leadership in Europe for the second month in a row, ahead of the German Volkswagen Golf.
Experts from the analytics agency JATO Dynamics spoke about the best-selling cars in Europe in June this year. The compact Renault Clio has become the leader – this model holds the leadership for the second month in a row. The sharp increase in sales of Clio is largely due to the change of generation – last month, the car sold 37,119 units. (+ 3%).
But the Volkswagen Golf, despite the update, is selling much worse than a year ago. In June, dealers of the brand sold 24,474 new cars, which is 35% less than last year. The compact crossover Renault Captur closes the top three with a result of 22,287 sold cars (-21%). The fourth position goes to Dacia Sandero with 20,699 pieces. (-21%). And the TOP-5 is supplemented by the most popular non-European car Toyota Yaris – in June dealers of the Japanese brand were able to sell 19,532 such cars (-1%). The Peugeot 208 compact hatchback ranks sixth with a score of 19 194 (-8%).
The Ford Focus, popular in the European market, became the seventh (18 113 units, -10%), followed by Dacia Duster (17 400 units, -20%).
Top 10 are supplemented by Peugeot 2008 (17 092 units, + 10%) and Opel / Vauxhall Corsa (17 073 units, -18%).
