Renault Clio became a bestseller in Europe in MayJuly 4, 2020
The French hatchback has become the best-selling in Europe for the second month in a row, steadily ahead of the German Volkswagen Golf.
JATO Dynamics experts named the best-selling models in the European car market in May 2020. For the second month in a row, the French Renault Clio holds the lead. The former Volkswagen Golf leader is second again. Both cars were recently updated, but the German concern had to suspend production due to software failures, which caused a shortage of dealers.
Renault dealers were able to sell 16,028 Clio cars, which is 51% lower than last year’s figure for the same period. Volkswagen Golf sold 13 125 cars (-64%). The compact bronze Peugeot 208 (10 977 units, -46%) receives the Bronze rating. Thus, the Europeans once again reaffirmed their love for compact cars. On the fourth line is Dacia Sandero with a result of 10,651 copies sold (-52%). The TOP 5 crossover is complemented by the Renault Captur crossover, which was chosen by 10,047 European residents (-46%).
On the sixth line is the Volkswagen T-Roc, which caused great excitement (9,277 units, -49%). This is followed by the compact Opel Corsa (9,451 units, -53%), and behind it is the Dacia Duster crossover (9,041 units, -56%).
The TOP-10 is closed by the French Citroen C3 (8 712 units, -55%) and the German Volkswagen Tiguan cross (8 689 units, -55%)
