Renault Captur will be released this summerFebruary 10, 2019
The basis for the Renault Captur of the new generation will be the improved CMF-B architecture, on which the new Clio was built. The most anticipated innovation will be a hybrid engine that runs on a 9.8 kW battery.
The European version of the popular crossover Renault Captur, which occupies a compact segment, will receive an update in the summer of this year. So far there are not many details, but judging by some statements of the company – the processing will be large-scale. At a minimum, the model will replace the platform with a modified version of the CMF-B, which has already become the basis for the new Clio.
Changing the platform will allow the company to slightly reduce the weight of the car, increase the rigidity of the body, and therefore safety, add new equipment, and also install the battery by almost 10 kW * hours. The new version will receive a hybrid power plant with a range of electricity for up to 50 km. As the power unit is supposed to install engines of 1.0, 1.3 and 1.5 liters, but the details and characteristics are not yet known. It is also not known which transmission will be offered in the engine panel.
It is also logical to assume that the model will change its appearance, the interior will receive a redesign of the design, as well as new finishing materials. The crossover will be on sale by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Renault is preparing a pickup truck based on the new version of the Duster crossover. The model will be completely new, and will not be a localized version of the Brazilian Oroch. Currently, the development is carried out in the Romanian division of the technical center Renault.
