Reliability Tesla pickup can be a serious problemJuly 18, 2019
Owners of pickups need reliable and powerful cars that will not fail in a difficult situation. But can a fully electric truck from Tesla fully meet all these requirements?According to insiders, with the first pickup truck in the history of the brand, serious problems may arise, and it is with reliability.
It has long been known that the American company Tesla, which manufactures all-electric cars, places the main emphasis on the range and performance of its models.
The reliability of some of its cars (in particular, the crossover Model X) was considered inappropriate – this was repeatedly written by various statistical companies. Even the Model 3 and Model S sedans had some reliability issues.
It is noteworthy, but not all truck owners appreciate reliability. This was found out by the guys from the foreign company Cox Automotive. According to their survey, only 5.8% of full-size pickup customers believe that the driving performance of their potential workhorse is the most important factor in their buying decisions. Well, only 31.3% of the owners of such cars speak for reliability – they called this quality the most important factor when making a purchase decision.
Thus, in order for the first pick-up from Tesla to enjoy good popularity, it must surpass such large market players in terms of reliability as American full-size Ford F-150 pick-ups, Ram Truck and Chevy Silverado.
So, the guys from Tesla have many more years to bring the reliability indicator of their pickup truck to first place in the class, and we believe that the automaker is capable of producing reliable cars.
