Redesigned Audi RS3 Sportback and RS3 Sedan prototypes spottedMarch 24, 2021
The journalists published photos showing the new generation Audi RS3 Sportback and RS3 Sedan test cars.
In May last year, the first photos of the next generation Audi RS3 appeared – the car was disguised as a previous version of the model. Until now, there have been no pictures showing the new Audi RS3 with a completely new body. The debut of the novelty should take place in the near future, since the recently noticed prototypes of the Audi RS3 Sportback and RS3 Sedan had only a thin strip of disguise.
Captured just off the Nürburgring racetrack, the new RS3 seemed to have all the production details, including convex fenders and oversized air intakes.
A closer look at the front bumper reveals that the side air intakes are indeed functional and not purely decorative.
Both the hatchback and the sedan seemed to be “glued” to the road surface – apparently the car received a sports suspension for more precise control. You will notice three different wheel designs as the RS3 Sedan had one set of rims and the hatchback had its own.
Under the hood, the new RS3 will be powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five that produces 394 horsepower (480 Nm) in other similar models from the brand such as the RS Q3 and TT RS. According to insider reports, the TFSI engine will be upgraded to provide slightly more power, around 414 hp. (500 Nm).
