Rare mid-engined Peugeot 207 THP Spider spottedOctober 31, 2020
Photos have appeared on the Web showing a rather rare French car from Peugeot. The car, which has a mid-engined layout, was spotted on the Nürburgring.
A couple of hours ago, a video appeared at the disposal of our publication, which captured a rather rare Peugeot car that drove along the Nürburgring race track.
The mid-engined Peugeot 207 THP Spider was built for a short racing series in which private drivers could pay to race in a 207 THP Spider.
This one-of-a-kind, bespoke racing car did use the same turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 engine powering the civilian Peugeot 207 GTI, but that was where the similarities ended. Since then, the 207 THP has become a true racing car designed to compete on Grand Prix circuits such as the Nurburgring, Monza, Silverstone and Spa.
The Peugeot 207 THP Spider was equipped with a 6-speed Sadev sequential gearbox for extra speed and agility. The lightweight racing car weighed just 720 kg, which is much less than the 1250 kg in the case of the Peugeot 207 GTI.
The Peugeot 207 THP Spider was produced in only 50 pieces. So it’s safe to say that seeing this car is a unique opportunity.
Not so long ago, we wrote that a completely new Peugeot 308 was again seen on tests. The compact French hatchback Peugeot 308 will be completely redesigned and modernized by 2021. In the meantime, fans of the brand are content with spy photos of the novelty. In the last pictures, the camouflaged “308” is very similar to the serial version.
