Range Rover got a new engineJuly 15, 2020
Land Rover revised the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport engine ranges, adding a new 3.0-liter diesel engine with a soft hybrid.
As noted in the British company, the new engine for Range Rover should come to replace the obsolete 3-liter V6 and 4.4-liter V8 diesel engine. The new unit is already available in the UK.
This hybrid powertrain is offered in two performance options. Variation D300 develops 300 hp (650 Nm) and the D350 model – 350 hp (700 Nm).
It is noted that the fuel consumption of a 300-horsepower engine is 7.1 liters per 100 km of track, and the more productive D350 is 7.7 liters per 100 km. The electric motor and modernized catalytic converters allowed to reduce emissions of harmful substances by 37 g / km.
However, the main thing is that Range Rover with the new engine has become more dynamic and accelerates to the first 100 kph in 7.4 seconds – 0.5 seconds less than with the old power unit SDV6. The D350 overcomes 100 km / h in 6.9 seconds – 0.3 seconds faster than with the SDV8 engine.
The British brand, in particular, installed a new power unit on the car, which received an improved climate system capable of filtering particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers from the air.
