Range Rover Evoque LWB Aheads Its Big Debut In ChinaApril 14, 2021
The press service of the Ministry of Industry of the PRC, even before the official debut, declassified the appearance of the Range Rover Evoque LWB SUV with a wheelbase of 2841 mm.
Photospies have seen the long-wheelbase Range Rover Evoque on several occasions, but now this model has been presented by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
The Evoque LWB reportedly looks instantly recognizable, with a length of 4,531mm and a wheelbase of 2,841mm. This is an increase of 160 mm on both counts.
Although the model is 280mm shorter than the Velar, the difference in their wheelbase is only 33mm. As a result, the Evoque LWB should have a spacious cabin that rivals its larger sibling.
This was one of the main complaints about the crossover, as the standard Evoque only has 859mm of legroom in the rear seats. To increase the length, the Evoque LWB was equipped with longer rear doors. The roof is also stretched, but, like the standard model, it maintains a steep slope.
Previously, it was assumed that the model will be offered with seven seats. But in this particular version, there are only five of them. But everything may change in the future.
Power comes from the familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 246bhp. and 365 Nm of torque. It is linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. This setup allows the standard Evoque to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in eight seconds, before reaching a top speed of 229 km / h. However, the long wheelbase variant can be expected to be slightly slower.
The Evoque LWB is reportedly launching soon, so look out for a possible debut at the Shanghai Auto Show.
