Racing Citroen for the “Paris-Dakar” put up for saleSeptember 16, 2018
Racing Citroen took part in five rally-raids
The auction house Leclere Motorcars launches an off-road prototype Citroën ZX, built in 1991 to participate in rally raids. The car took part in five races for the Citroën Sport team: two “Rally of the Pharaohs”, two “Paris-Dakar” and one rally-raid “Paris-Cape Town”. In 1990, the Finnish racer Ari Vatanen performed on Citroën.
The Citroen ZX Rallye Raid is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine located within the base, which produces 330 horsepower. The same unit was used, but in a different configuration, on the Peugeot 205 T16. The box is a seven-speed manual transmission. The weight of the car is 1450 kilograms, the maximum speed of the all-wheel drive prototype is 205 kilometers per hour.
The car is equipped with a self-locking differential, a body made of carbon fiber reinforced with Kevlar, and a safety cage. Three years ago, an SUV for sale was completely restored. It has all the main nodes and equipment, except the trip computer.
The price of the machine is 160-190 thousand euros
In April there was an announcement about the sale of 148 copies of the model Citroen CX. The machines differed in modifications and technical condition. Among them were hatchbacks, station wagons, cars with an elongated wheelbase, “first aid” and even a special “charged” version of the GTI for Scandinavia with heated seats.
