Published render on “charged” crossover Ford Escape / Kuga STApril 8, 2019
Independent artists presented a render for a high-performance version of the Ford Escape / Kuga ST. The car can be similar in its technical and dynamic characteristics with the “charged” hatchback Focus ST.
There is another reason to rejoice in the fourth generation of the compact Ford Escape crossover – perhaps a high-performance version of the ST will be created for this car, considering that the large Edge crossover will also be presented in this version. Not so long ago, independent artists presented their vision of what the “charged” Ford Escape ST will look like.
It’s actually not so difficult to imagine, given that American Ford has already shown the ST-Line version of its small crossover for the European market, where the model is known as the Kuga.
If Ford really decides to build an Escape / Kuga ST, then such a car can use the same engine as the recently shown Focus ST. “Hot” 5-door hatchback is equipped with a four-cylinder 2.3-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with a capacity of 276 horsepower (420 Nm). The potential Kuga ST can also be offered with a 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine rated at 187 hp. (400 Nm), as seen on the same Focus ST.
As we are talking about a crossover, Ford may decide to provide it with an all-wheel drive system as standard, which, in turn, will bring dividends in terms of acceleration due to a more optimized power transmission to the wheels. A powerful Focus ST with front-wheel drive takes less than six seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h, and a possible Kuga / Escape ST, with all-wheel drive, can take a little longer.
