Published photos of the updated Audi RS3. Newest car will receive 415 hpJuly 3, 2020
The tests saw prototypes of the next-generation high-performance Audi RS3. According to rumors, the novelty will receive a power of more than 400 hp. Nothing is known about the debut date.
Audi is certainly not in a hurry to release more powerful versions of the latest generation A3 model, because we are still patiently waiting for the S3 debut, not to mention the most productive RS3. The latter was announced back in February this year, and its prototype, on which there was no camouflage film, was captured last month. We will have to wait even more for the appearance of the serial RS3, because logic tells us that the prestigious German newest car will debut after the premiere of the high-performance hatchback VW Golf R.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of “spy” photos and videos that capture the prototypes of the new RS3, which certainly makes the wait easier. New shots taken on the Nurburgring racetrack show the RS3 in Sportback guise, it is reported that the car is undergoing final testing. Although there is nothing particularly interesting in this particular prototype, except for less camouflage and the fact that the more disguised test car seemed to have a more powerful exhaust sound.
Apparently, that prototype, which received more disguise, received a more efficient exhaust system.
The direct competitor to the Mercedes-AMG A45 S from the Audi Sport sports division will be equipped with a turbocharged in-line five that can reach over 400 horsepower. Our British counterparts claim that the 2.5 TFSI engine can have approximately 415 hp power and 500 Nm of torque. If this is true, the updated RS3 will receive an additional 20 hp and 20 Nm compared to its predecessor. There are rumors that a little later, customers will also be presented with a more powerful RS3 Performance with 450 hp.
Not so long ago, we wrote that Audi is launching E-tron S sports variants on the market. German cars will become innovative – for the first time, three electric motors will receive production versions for the first time.
