The network has appeared rendering on the Italian sedan Giulia in an even more powerful version of GTA Coupe. The car should compete with the German BMW M4 Coupe and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe.
Alfa Romeo stormed the “scene” of sports cars in June 2018, when it announced the triumphant return of two important names in its history – GTV and 8C. However, the presentations of both coupes were postponed as part of a restructuring plan that included investing all available funds in the development of the new Tonale crossover. This means that the company does not plan to create a single compartment in the near future, so enthusiasts really have nothing to rely on except the Giulia sedan in a more powerful version of GTA and its track-oriented “brother” GTAm.
This did not stop Aksyonov Nikita from dreaming about the new Alfa Romeo with two doors, launching his Photoshop and messing around with the image of the new Gran Turismo Alleggerita. The end result is an attractive Giulia GTA Coupe, which should compete with the German BMW M4 Coupe and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe.
Some argue that a GTA performance would make more sense for the Giulia Coupe, given that the original model, released in 1965, had only two doors.
Perhaps Alfa Romeo is not so difficult to turn the four-door Giulia GTA into a coupe, but, given that sales of the usual sedan and its “charged” performance Quadrifoglio are not quite large, the company is unlikely to do so. Now the volume of production of a high-performance sedan is limited to only 500 copies, and most of them are designed to enter European markets.
It only remains to hope that Alfa Romeo will invest the money received from the sales of its current and future crossovers in the development of some high-performance cars that will correspond to the brand’s heritage.
