Published another teaser of the new Mercedes-Benz S-ClassJuly 21, 2020
The German automaker continues to show its next-generation flagship piece by piece.
The German automaker today posted a new video showing augmented reality in action on its Twitter page. AR-HUD superimposes target distance and navigation directions on the sedan’s windshield. The system is able to detect and recognize road signs and various obstacles in the form of other cars, as well as pedestrians and cyclists. In addition, the car will be able to prompt the driver about insufficient or excessive steering angle when cornering.
Overall, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W223 will focus on technology. In particular, the car will be equipped with a voice assistant capable of distinguishing which passenger is accessing it and changing the settings of the car for a specific person. In addition, the manufacturer redesigned the car’s ergonomics, as a result of which he managed to get rid of several dozen physical buttons and switches.
According to preliminary data, all versions of the new S-Class will be equipped with a mild hybrid. There will also be AMG versions on the market. In addition, an all-electric EQS sedan is expected later, which will borrow the electronics from the W223, but will be driven by an electric power plant with a capacity of more than 400 hp. The premiere of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will take place in September this year. Before the main presentation, the company will hold two more events at which it will talk about the safety of the car and its functionality.
