PSA wants to electrify all its models in ChinaDecember 9, 2019
The European concern is actively developing in the Chinese market, and next year it intends to electrify the entire model line in the local market. All versions of cars will receive one degree or another of electrification.
Next year, the PSA Group will begin to offer electrified versions of all of its new and upgraded models created at the Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile joint venture in China. According to Dongfeng Motor Group, by 2023 in the Middle Kingdom all models will receive hybrid or fully electric versions.
First of all, the new Peugeot 2008 crossover, which will be offered in the all-electric version of the e-2008, is being prepared for the start of sales. Later, hybrid versions of the Peugeot 4008 and Citroen C5 Aircross will be offered.
The new generation Peugeot e-2008 in the electric version will be equipped with a 136 horsepower engine. A battery of 50 kW * hours will be used as a power source, which will provide a range of up to 310 km on a full charge according to the WLTP cycle. In addition, the crossover is equipped with a charging module with support for power up to 100 kW, which will allow charging the battery for 160 km of power reserve in 20 minutes.
The PSA-Dongfeng joint venture was established in 1992 with equal shares. The joint venture is engaged in the production of Peugeot and Citroen models.
Meanwhile, PSA is confident that the merger with FCA will help to “break into” the Chinese market. The merger of the two concerns was officially announced at the end of October 2019. This will allow them to create the fourth largest concern in the world.
