Production of the “charged” new-generation BMW M3 has started in MunichNovember 4, 2020
The all-new BMW M3 sedan hit the assembly line of the company’s Munich plant, which produces the entire G20 3-Series, this week.
The new M3 marks the release of the full 3-Series at the Munich plant, which now produces the 3-Series sedan and 3-Series Touring station wagon, including all modifications with hybrid, petrol and diesel powertrains. It is noteworthy that all modifications and variants of the drives are assembled on one line.
“We are very pleased to be producing the new BMW M3 at our main plant in the future. This is a cult car, it has many fans among our team at the factory, including me. The integration of M3 went absolutely smoothly. We have benefited from the vast experience gained with previous-generation BMW M cars, ”said Robert Engelhorn, Director of the BMW Group Plant in Munich.
The previous generation BMW M4 was assembled in Munich until the spring, but the new generation model was transported to the plant in Dingolfing. This helped BMW implement the M4 Coupe’s carbon fiber roof assembly process for the new M3.
BMW has indeed had to introduce completely new workflows at its own seat factory, which produces new carbon bucket seats M. In addition, the hood and side panels of the G80 M3 are also made by hand and assembled by hand.
The all-new BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe will arrive in European dealerships in March 2021. Both new products are equipped with a biturbed 3.0-liter engine with two power levels: 473 hp power and 550 Nm of torque, and in the Competition version, this unit produces 503 hp. and 650 Nm.
