Production of Skoda Kamiq startedJuly 9, 2019
According to the official press release of the Czech brand, at the moment, at the production facilities of the plant in the city of Mladá Boleslav, the mass production of the compact Kamiq crossover has begun. This model will be a direct receiver for the “old» Skoda Fabia Combi.
First I want to remind you that back in March of this year, an official presentation of the Czech compact crossover Skoda Kamiq took place. The show was held at the International Motor Show in Geneva. The machine is based on the modular platform MQB and has a rather modest size – the length is 4 241 mm, the width is 1 793 mm, the height is 1 531 mm. Thus, the new crossover is even smaller in size than the South Korean “kid” Hyundai Creta.
Now, the main enterprise of the Czech brand, which is located in the city of Mlada Boleslav, has begun mass production of Skoda Kamiq.
It is known that the production capacity of the plant is capable of producing 400 units of this crossover every day. And in order to fully prepare the company for the assembly of a new model, 100,000,000 euros were invested.
It is known that for European motorists, the new SUV will be available with a three-cylinder TSI turbo engine with a displacement of 1.0 liters and a capacity of either 95 or 115 hp, which will be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. Under the hood, at the most powerful version of the car will be a turbo four TSI 1.5 liters and 150 horses. If desired, you can choose a 1.6-liter diesel TDI 115 hp. As a transmission, you can also order the DSG robot.
There is no price for a new Skoda Kamiq, but according to rumors, the initial version will cost at least 19,000 euros. The novelty will be on sale this fall.
