Production of Maserati will stop due to weak demandDecember 20, 2017
The assembly of most models of the Italian brand will be suspended for a month.
Maserati will again stop production due to weak sales of its cars – the assembly of most models will be resumed only after January 15. The main reason for the stop is the slowdown in sales in the Chinese market.
According to the publication Automotive News, the company will suspend the release of models Ghibli and Quattroporte from December 15 to January 15, the crossover Levante from December 20 to January 15, and GranTurismo and GranCabrio from December 15 to January 8.
“It is clear that while production is slowing down, investments in the development of new models are being frozen,” said the head of the trade union Frederico Bellono to the publication. By the way, the release of the crossover Maserati Levante was suspended two times this year, which is due to the new rules of importing cars to China and the fall in sales of the model.
