Production of Audi RS5 Sportback for EuropeOctober 2, 2018
According to official data, the mass production of high-performance Audi RS5 Sportback for European automotive markets has been discontinued indefinitely. But there is no doubt that in the near future the conveyors of German plants will work again.
The management of the German brand seriously believes that the US car market has a much greater potential for increasing sales of the Audi RS5 Sportback than the markets of European countries – in particular, due to the rather harsh environmental standards that exist there. That is why some model production time for Europe ceased.
Our colleagues from the automobile edition Autocar report that deliveries of the German high-performance model Audi RS5 Sportback were temporarily stopped for the automotive markets in the UK and some European countries.
As a reason, it is reported that at present, the company’s management plans to focus on the US market – in this country there is now a slight shortage of the RS5 Sportback, the “hot” performance of the A5 model.
Note that under the hood of this car is a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6, which can reach a maximum power of 444 horsepower and a maximum torque of 600 Nm. An 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox is offered as a transmission, which will be connected to the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Thanks to this technical “stuffing”, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds and has a maximum speed of 250 km / h (electronically limited). However, if you purchase an additional Dynamic Plus package, this restriction can be postponed to the level of 280 km / h.
So soon, the German high-performance Audi RS5 Sportback will go on sale in the United States automobile market at a minimum price of $ 70,000.
