Spanish sports brand SEAT Cupra introduced a high-performance version of the Ateca crossover. The new model year 2021 received small changes in design, as well as more sporty chassis settings.

Exactly a week ago, the Spanish company SEAT (Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo) introduced an updated version of its Ateca crossover, and now, the SEAT Cupra division, which is responsible for creating more powerful versions of the regular brand models, introduced its version of Ateca.

Meet the Cupra Ateca 2021 model year, showing the same style changes as the regular version of the model from SEAT. The most obvious changes have occurred with the front of the car, where fully LED headlights now more closely match the headlights of other brand models – Leon and Tarraco.

The SEAT Cupra also received a new bumper, which has a slightly more “lively design”, while at the same time including a new set of fog lights. As we saw on the other recent new models (I’m looking at you, BMW), the false radiator grille is bigger than before.

There is nothing special to say about the rear of the new product, since it looks unchanged, including fully LED taillights with successive turn signals.

Square exhaust pipes and numerous copper accents are clear signs that this is not an ordinary version of the crossover from SEAT. Customers can choose from six body colors and six 19-inch alloy wheels. Brembo brakes will be offered for an additional fee.

An all-digital 10.25-inch dashboard appeared in the cabin, complementing the 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

While the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is carried over to 300 horsepower (221 kilowatts) and 400 Newton meters (295 lb-ft) of torque, Cupra has made some changes to the chassis. These revisions were implemented in order to provide a powerful crossover with “the most accurate, complex and driving style”.

From 0 to 100 km / h, the novelty accelerates in 4.9 seconds, and the maximum speed is 247 km / h. As before, the car is offered with a seven-speed “automatic” with double clutch and all-wheel drive system.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that Cupra introduced a new limited Ateca with carbon fiber and unique discs. Cupra is a breakaway Seat brand of “charged” cars, and it is now producing interesting models.
