Presented mid-engine Porsche 911 RSRJuly 19, 2019
There is no limit to perfection, say the engineers of the German company and update their racing GT. Well, the winners are not judged.
Speaking of victories, this model has won more than twenty times in its segment, starting from the moment it was born in 2016. But apparently the company is not going to stop there and makes a number of updates (they say there will be a lot). The changes, according to representatives of Porsche, will not affect unless the components of the suspension, clutch, brakes, head optics and driver’s seat.
What will change is, first of all, the engine boxer. From four liters, its working volume will increase to 4.2, and thus it becomes the largest factory unit for the 911. Its capacity will be 520 hp. subject to the limiter for the class.
It is also known that the model will be equipped with an improved six-band sequential gearbox, and the pilot can switch between gears much easier and faster. The drive is traditionally rear. Another innovation is the exhaust pipe in front of the rear wheels. This has a good effect on the rear diffuser, increasing downforce.
In addition in the presence of an updated rollcage, security systems and a removable hatch. All these improvements we will be able to see on the modified Porsche 911 RSR on September 1 this year during the WEC stage at Silverstone.
