Presented final teaser for the high-performance Skoda Octavia RS IVFebruary 27, 2020
The press service of the Czech automaker has published a video that partially shows the plug-in hybrid version of the new generation Skoda Octavia RS IV. The official presentation of the new items will take place at the Geneva Motor Show, which will begin its work in a couple of days.
Just yesterday, some publications filmed a prototype of the high-performance Octavia RS, which received almost no camouflage. Well, just a couple of minutes ago, the press service of the company Skoda published the final video teaser, which is dedicated to the long-awaited new product.
Available both in the liftback and station wagon bodies, the Rally Sport (RS) version of the best-selling car of the Czech brand is presented in the “iV” version – a suffix denoting its electrified engine.
The Skoda Octavia RS iV powerplant will combine a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor. The plug-in hybrid engine will provide a total of 242 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Octavia RS iV will be able to drive 55 kilometers in electric mode. As a transmission, a robotic DSG will be offered.
The RS iV will not be the only version updated by the Octavia presented at the Geneva Motor Show, as Skoda will also show several more hybrid versions of the model, in particular a bunch of 1.4 TSI and an electric motor with a maximum power of 201 hp. and 350 Nm.
Later this year, the Octavia RS family will be diversified by adding models with more traditional 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines. It remains to be seen whether the diesel engine will again be offered with four-wheel drive.
