Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.4 electric car.
Note that the design of the German novelty was not a secret, since the images revealing it appeared back in June this year.
Volkswagen notes that the new electric car will offer good driving dynamics, bold design and advanced technology. The basic version of the electric vehicle, built on the MEB platform, is equipped with a single engine on the rear axle with an output of 201 hp. (309 Nm), and also a battery with a capacity of 82 kW / h, providing a cruising range of up to 402 km according to the EPA cycle. A more productive variation received two electric motors with a return of 302 hp. According to the manufacturer, the battery of the novelty using fast charging can be replenished up to 80% in 38 minutes.
The length of the German electric car is 4585 mm, width – 1852 mm, height – 1636 mm, and the size of the wheelbase reaches 2766 mm. In turn, the trunk volume is 858 liters, and with the second row seats folded, this figure rises to 1818 liters.
Inside, the ID.4 features a 5.3-inch digital display, controlled via the steering wheel, and a 10-inch Discover Pro touch infotainment screen in the middle of the dashboard. The novelty, in particular, received the IQ.Drive driver assistance system, consisting of adaptive cruise control, lane keeping functions, assistance when reversing, and much more.
In the US, the standard ID.4 modification, which will go on sale in the first half of 2021, will start at $ 39,995. Later next year, the ID.4 all-wheel drive version will be available starting at $ 43,695. At the same time, first of all, customers will receive an electric car in the 1st Edition version at a price of $ 43,995.
In addition, it was recently reported that the German company Volkswagen is working on a compact crossover ID.1. True, the novelty will have to wait significantly longer than the rest of the ID series models. After its appearance, the new product will replace cars with internal combustion engines in its own class.
