Presented by Nikola Tre – Tesla electric truck competitorDecember 10, 2019
Electric cars are becoming more and more popular. The announcement of Cybertruck caused an unusual stir both among experts and future buyers who want to take a place in the queue for a futuristic pickup truck. Tesla and its electric Semi truck were challenged by the automaker Nikola, who had previously produced several hydrogen-powered trucks.
The new Nikola Tre was created in collaboration with CNH Industrial Iveco, which invested $ 250 million in its development. By and large, the car is a modified version of the serial Iveco S-Way. The changes affected the chassis, powertrain and wagon compartment.
Nikola Tre can travel 400 kilometers from a full charge of a 720 kWh battery. The power of the truck is 644 horsepower, and the torque is an impressive 978 N · m.
All important information is available on the large touch screen to the right of the driver. It focuses on climate control, adjustment of mirrors and suspension height, 360-degree camera system, navigation, audio system, as well as car diagnostics.
On the dashboard there is another display that displays important information for the driver: speed, driving mode and more.
The electric Nikola Tre will go on sale as early as 2021. The company also announced that a similar hydrogen-powered car will be released in 2023.
