Presented a render on the Genesis G70 CoupeApril 4, 2019
The model range of the South Korean Genesis can be extended with a coupe-shaped version of the Genesis G70 model.
A recently published render for the Genesis G70 coupe shows how a premium sedan might look like if a luxury car manufacturer decides to introduce a 2-door version of the model. I must say that the resulting car looks very stylish.
In addition to “cutting off” the two doors, the independent artist decided to change the look of the false radiator grille – he took the pointed grille, like the older model G90. The roofline is also slightly different, acquiring a stronger incline, since the height of the rear passenger seat is less important, and the change makes the back of the car more attractive.
There is every reason to suspect that the G70 coupe is not 100% fabricated – it can eventually join the current model line of the brand.
In 2015, representatives of the automaker said that the Genesis lineup will eventually include a “sports-type coupe,” and in 2016 it was said that a “luxury sports coupe” would appear in 2020. The promotional video released in 2017 showed us very superficially a novelty, or rather its silhouette.
Genesis G70 can soon get a more powerful engine, which will be more productive than the current 3.3-liter 365-horsepower V6. With this engine, the car would be able to compete on an equal footing with the Bavarian BMW M3.
A brand new coupe from Genesis can debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Luc Donkervolke, head of the design department of the Hyundai Group, confirms that there will also be shown an electrical concept, about which so far there is no data.
