Renault has updated its popular Duster SUV – the novelty will be sold in the South American market and will receive a number of significant innovations. The basis was the latest generation of the car, which has been produced since 2017. Outwardly, the differences are only cosmetic – in the exterior, only modified bumpers can be noted. Changes in the cabin are much more significant – the novelty received a modern multimedia complex EasyLink with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is installed in Renault Arkana.
The developers also changed the shape of the deflectors and installed a new steering wheel on the car. The chassis was much more transformed – the specialists upgraded the suspension, after which the ground clearance increased to 237 mm. The engine range is also different from the European one – in South America, the first stage will have two options for the power plant, and a little later a third will be added to them.
The base will be a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a return of 118 hp. It will also be possible to purchase a Duster with a 120-horsepower ethanol engine.
Depending on the configuration, a manual transmission or variator is used as a transmission. A little later for the South American Duster will be available 1.3-liter engine with a return of 156 hp, which is used in Renault Arkana. Recall that this engine was developed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. The assembly of new items will be established at the enterprise in Brazil.
