Presentation of the new generation Skoda Octavia will be held on November 11November 11, 2019
The Czech automaker is preparing for the world debut of the next generation of its popular liftback, which will be broadcast live on our website.
The world premiere of the new Skoda Octavia will take place today, Monday in Prague. The 30-minute presentation will be broadcast live on November 11, 2019, starting at 19:00 CET.
Recall that Octavia is by far the most successful Skoda model, whose sales in 2018 grew by 388,200 units, which is more than double the performance of the second and third best-selling cars of the company. Modern Octavia has single-handedly placed the Czech company in the big leagues since its launch in 1996, and its popularity is growing with each new generation.
Being a product of the parent group of the Volkswagen Group, the fourth generation Octavia is unlikely to undergo major design changes, as the German company, as a rule, prefers to take small steps when it comes to updating the design of the car. However, spy shots showed that the split front optics design would go away.
The edges of the headlights will correspond to the corners of a wider grille, giving the car an impressive front view. Since there is still a lot of camouflage on test cars, the side profile design remains a mystery, although we expect Skoda to make some changes to the stamping lines and add new alloy wheels.
In addition, we already know that for the first time, Octavia will have wider taillights extending to the doors of both the liftback and the station wagon to make it look more like an “older brother,” Superb.
It is expected that the basic version of the novelty will be equipped with a three-cylinder turbocharged engine, which can be found in many cars of the VAG concern – this is 1.0 TSI. It offers up to 116 hp power and 200 Nm of torque, which is sufficient for those who just want to get from point A to point B.
A more powerful 1.5 TSI will be offered, the output of which is already 148 hp. and 250 Nm. This power plant can be found in the current generation of Octavia. A little higher in the engine range is the 2.0 TSI unit, providing 190 hp. power and 320 Nm of torque.
The “charged” modification of the next-generation Octavia RS will either use an upgraded 2.0-liter engine, as well as a hybrid powerplant. Their power is not yet known, but it will be at least 245 hp and 370 Nm.
