Presentation of the electric Hummer will be held onlineJune 16, 2020
The official debut date in the company is not yet called.
First announced during the 2020 Super Bowl, the resurrected Hummer model was due to debut on May 20, but the coronavirus pandemic prompted GMC to delay the premiere of the electric car indefinitely. The good news is that this has not been affected by the development, which means that the automaker is still planning to introduce the model by the end of 2020 and launch it on the market in 2021.
We do not yet have an official debut date, but apparently the show will be held online. General Motors CEO Mary Barra recently covered this issue in an interview.
“They [debuts] will be mostly online. We will use virtual and augmented reality technologies to tell our story. I think we can be a delight, ”Barra told Jeff Gilbert, WWJ 950AM presenter.
This step should not be surprising given the current uncertain situation with the spread of coronavirus. We are still waiting for official information about the debut date of the new Hummer, but we have a feeling that the presentation will take place no earlier than September.
However, we know for sure that the revived Hummer will not have a V8 under the hood, and it will likely get a pickup body. Instead of an internal combustion engine, the novelty will use exclusively electric energy and will be sold under the GMC brand.
