Premium brand Hongqi unveils minibus concept in BeijingSeptember 28, 2020
The Chinese automaker, which has been making cars for local officials for 60 years, recently changed its concept. The brand headed for the civilian market. Now Hongqi has shared its developments in the field of autonomous cars.
An interesting show car from the “smart minibus” series was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show, which opened last Saturday. You can find it at the stand of the premium brand Hongqi.
This is a tiny minibus with an original, almost panoramic line of glass. This “airy” design is fully consistent with the main idea of the concept – even from a limited space, you can get maximum benefit.
To make the interior of the concept hood more spacious, the developers spread the four wheels to the maximum in the corners. At the same time, the wheels themselves did not become very large.
The front of the car, along with the windshield, is slightly inclined – such a constructive solution, like the very shape of the car, was chosen for better aerodynamics. In general, the appearance of the new item corresponds to the Hongqi corporate design, with the difference that the concept presented in Beijing still contains more elements oriented towards the future.
The doors of this minibus are located on the right, and in the car there is a place for a pair of swivel seats. The interior was decorated with blue and white leather.
The automaker itself has announced that the concept car will receive Level 4 autonomous driving technology. It is possible that the concept in the near future may grow into a production car or serve as a starting point for creating a new concept car.
Another debutant at the Beijing Motor Show was the new Chery Tiggo 8 Plus crossover capable of competing with premium models. He received a new design, became more technologically advanced and significantly increased in price.
